Right now you don’t need to care, because @Anywhere isn’t available yet, but it will be soon…eval Pronounced ‘At Anywhere’, it’s a new technology from Twitter that will help your personal branding through Twitter by: Highlighting your name on a website On any @Anywhere-enabled website, text that matches a Twitter user’s name (but not their username) will cause a small popup or ‘hovercard’ with some of your Twitter information to appear when moused over.eval I’m willing to bet that any text that corresponds to the name of a Twitter user will be automatically linked for hovercard purposes, so the more your name appears on @Anywhere-enabled sites, the more chances to gain followers. It will be interesting to see how Twitter will manage all the spammers using the same names as other people, or even just regular people who share a name. I really hope the system is smart enough to make the distinction, and not setup just to recognize Verified Accounts, those few lucky people that Twitter agrees are who they say they are. Making following you easier The hovercard shows your name, Twitter @username and Location (if known) in addition to a Follow button. From that hovercard, only 1 click is needed for the reader to follow you on Twitter. Attracting people to you There’s also a ‘more…’ link in the hovercard that, when clicked, expands the hovercard to show all the additional important information that normally appears in the upper right-hand corner of a Twitter profile such as your Website link, Bio, user statistics (number of tweets/updates, friends, followers, and Twitter Lists you’re on). Plus, your most recent tweet is displayed. Having a well-branded Bio is important but now you have even more incentive to leave your last tweet (before going offline) as a brand builder, because you never know who will see it next. Spreading your Twitter profile @Anywhere-enabled websites let you sign in using your Twitter credentials instead of having to register and login, just like Facebook Connect. Although it’s not completely clear yet, expect that any comments you leave on an @Anywhere-enabled website will be linked to your Twitter account. Promoting who you are Finally, another feature of @Anywhere is that websites can use it to promote their authors contributors from any page on the site, automatically pulling in information from their Twitter profiles so that if you like someone’s article, or if someone likes your article, following on Twitter is only a couple of clicks away. How to Write a Resume That CountsEverybody knows about the resume writing meme - 'write your resume, not them'. However, the meme seems to be more generalized than it actually is. In this article, I will try to clear things up. So buckle up, this one is going to be a little unconventional.Resume writing as a generalization may not have been so much as a meme in the beginning. However, as the industry evolved and companies needed to find new ways to get noticed, they began to adapt and add a resume writing tagline that was very similar to the resume writing meme. These were sometimes put on the company website, sometimes placed on the bottom of every resume and sometimes as part of an internal email. The end result was a resume writing style that fit everybody's personality.Resume writing didn't have to be this way. Many job seekers have been wondering how to go about writing a successful resume, only to find that it has taken years to hone their skills and had worked on every aspect of their career. In fact, if your resume is to your liking, it probably looked like your resume - just in a different format. With that in mind, here are some tips that can help you find a strategy for writing a quality resume.First, always start with your keywords - key phrases. Key phrases are the key to creating a good resume. They tell the recruiter why you were the best candidate for the position and they can easily come back to you for more work. Your key phrases are the first things your recruiter will see, so make sure they are accurate and relevant. After you have completed a resume, give it a quick once over to make sure it matches your key phrases.Second, never format your resume from the ground up. Just as you want to read every word that makes up a report, you need to be sure that your resume is formatted exactly how you want it to be. When you are able to organize your information into the best possible order, your resume writing skills will flourish.Third, you need to provide a great summary of your qualifications. Your summary will tell the recruiter what you are looking for and will create an instant impression. This is also the section that you need to be doing the most research for. You should spend a few hours at the library or just browsing online to find your facts about the positions you are considering.Finally, do not skip any steps that are necessary to properly finish off your resume. Often, the easiest way to finish a resume is to write the body and the cover. Once your cover letter has been completed, you can take a break and finish your resume. And no, I'm not suggesting that you do the reverse! By this point, you should already know where you want the letter to end up and you should know how you want to finalize your resume.So, instead of jumping through hoops to finish a resume that is not that important, the next time you see a full-length job application that looks like a novel - chances are you have stumbled upon a legitimate resource. If that is how you are feeling, then Ill tell you the same thing I tell my clients: It is up to YOU to prove you will succeed in that expanded role. One of the single most difficult things to accomplish in your career will be to convince your current company that you will succeed in a higher level position. Its not impossible, but it IS challenging. That is because your managers have already formed their perceptions of you based on how you have performed at your current level at your day-to-day responsibilities. You must look at yourself from their prospective. If you want a promotion from within your current company, find out the job requirements and expectations. You need to fully understand the kinds of work experience, level of education, and personal characteristics required for the position you desire. It may not be necessary to have ALL the job requirements for the new position, but it will be critical to have all the major requirements. If you feel you can successfully do the job, then send the message that you have the proven skill set, knowledge, and training the new position requires â€" and that you will be successful in the new role. It is not your employers responsibility to take a chance on you or give you a shot. It is up to YOU to prove you will be successful in that role before you get the promotion.
